2024 "ABOUT" - UPDATE - from Tracy
With maturity comes physical amd hormonal changes that have caused that darn weight gain to sneak in! ARG!!! Don't be surprised when you see me you I seem more 'fluffy'! YEAH.. fluffy *haha*
None the less, I'm still on my journey of being more physically fit. I mention my present physical struggles because I want to be as transparent and real to my friends and students, and future friends and future students! Born and raised in Titusville, Tracy's main home for lessons is Singleton Driving Range in Titusville. She began playing the game at age 13, and began to work with her long time golf instructor, Rolf Deming, in honing her skills. She played golf locally through high school, and for Troy State University. After returning to Titusville, in the mid 90's she played in local Future's Tour events and participated in the LPGA Tour Qualifier, aka "The Q-School".
After having lived for some time in Germany and returning to her home town, Tracy married and had two boys. "Life happens when we are busy making plans" is a favorite quote of Tracy's. As we all know life often dictates our choices; we put our dreams on hold for the sake of our family. Tracy did just that. She put her dreams of being a Golf Teaching Professional on hold and spent years in an office working administrative tasks. She always held her dream of teaching close. |
Years of a desk job and stresses caused Tracy to become what she calls, "Incredibly unhealthy and not who I am meant to be". She was near 300 pounds and hadn't picked up a golf club in years. A heart-scare caused her to reevaluate her life, how her actions affected those she loved, and to make some major changes (the heart-scare turned out to be a 'false-positive'). She cleaned up her eating, had tests done to evaluate foods and intolerances that were detrimental to her health/Crohn's Disease, and began to work out on a regular basis at the Parrish Fitness Center. Her longtime friend, and present LPGA T&CP Mentor, Christa Teno was witness to Tracy's change physical and mental changes over the next two years. Tracy lost over 100 lbs and picked up those dusty clubs. A series of life events and conversations with Christa lead Tracy to the decision to go for the dream to be the Golf Instructor she knew she was meant to be.
As one friend stated, “Tracy you remind me of that Jay Danzie quote, ‘Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.’” As mentioned, Tracy doesn't have the average Golf Instructor back story. However, she does have a story that many women and men have had – to have played a sport well, reached a certain level of professionalism, and then have "life happen on life's terms". One of Tracy's goals is to remind everyone that it's never too late to be healthy or achieve a dream. Her dream is to be the best teacher she can be, and improve the lives (and golf games!) of as many people as she can reach. Tracy's long term dreams are to continue her education within the LPGA T&CP, to become a certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Fitness Instructor AND TPI Junior Instructor. Her goals are high but she has no doubt that with the correct effort and attitude, her dreams will come to fruition - and yours will too! |
