Golf is a unique sport. Unlike other sports, no two golf courses are exactly alike. Football, baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer field dimensions are uniform, fitting exact specifications no matter where you play the sport.
But in golf, the diameter of greens are never the same. Some are smaller, some bigger, rarely are they perfectly round. Not to mention the pin is never in the same position. Distances, hazards, trees, each golf course has its own challenges and aesthetics.
Golf's uniqueness remains steadfast. Only a few number of athletes get to compete in professional baseball or football. But golf is unique. We golfers compete until late in life - long after our prime in other sports has passed.
No matter if we possess a scratch handicap or one above 40, strategizing, yardage calculation, and other course management routines continue in our heads for every shot we take. Its amazing, for a sport to be dominated by such a wide variety of individuals and levels of playing ability.
Food for thought...
NO, things do NOT get worse before they get better and NO, a golf lesson (or clinic) isn't about re-engineering your swing!
(I'm not endorsing, only offering food for thought)
Thank you... and thanks to my Mom..
Recently, my mother passed away (it still feels 'recent'). I want to thank my friends and students who have been supportive with hugs, prayers, words of encouragement, sympathy, and understanding. While my family and I are still grieving (and from what friends have shared, we tend to grieve the loss of our parents for nearly the rest of our days), our lives here must go on. Mom would have been saying "for goodness sake, just get back out there". :-) Thank you again.
~ With love and appreciation
... to my friends, students, and loved ones who have been a priceless network in helping me navigate through some of life's more difficult, rough waters. My hope is that I might be able to share my experience, strength, and hope of what I've learned . My gratitude couldn't be sufficiently expressed in text. When you see me.. hug me!
Now... back to life!

A War Eagle with Viper fangs!
September 2019 - As many of you know, I was (yes, past tense ~frowns~) the golf coach for the Boy's Golf Team at Space Coast Jr/Sr High School. With the unknowns of my life, I didn't feel I could devote the time needed to the team so I stepped away from the position. It was a heart breaking decision. In hind-site (the last 5 weeks or so), it was the best decision.
I miss the 'guys'! My position was one of a mixture of Coach, Step-Mom, and whip-cracker. The parents were fantastic and I miss them as well!
I am grateful that my schedule still allows me to work with them on a one-on-one basis... if they ask. ~hint hint~
(I still love you, my alumni - Astronaut High School)
